OpenMail for Gmail™ · Last updated August 14, 2026
These terms cover your use of the OpenMail browser extension ("the extension"). By installing or using it, you agree to these terms.
OpenMail checks the Gmail accounts you connect for unread mail and shows you a notification with a preview. It's provided free of charge, for personal use.
The extension is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will always detect new mail instantly, since that depends on Google's Gmail API and your browser being open, among other things.
Connecting a Gmail account requires you to sign in and grant permission through Google's own consent screen. Your use of Gmail through this extension is still subject to Google's Terms of Service. You can revoke the extension's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
The donate button lets you voluntarily send money to support the developer's work, processed by Stripe. Donations are not a purchase of goods or services, don't entitle you to any specific feature or support level, and are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at the developer's discretion.
The stated tagline that a portion of donations go toward the BC Cancer Foundation, in memory of Tony Jay, reflects the developer's personal commitment, not a formal charitable structure or guarantee enforceable against any third party. If you'd prefer your contribution go entirely to the BC Cancer Foundation rather than support the developer, a direct tribute-donation link is offered alongside the donate button for that purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension, including missed or delayed notifications, or any action taken (such as marking mail as read or deleting a message) using the extension's controls.
These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the extension after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
